Tàccaru is a circular company based in Puglia. We collect wood from secular olive trees affected by the Xylella bacterium, and transform it into unique boards. Inspired by the concept of circular economics, Tàccaru replants a tree for each item sold.

In 2013 a bacterium called Xylella fastidiosa arrived in the Apulian province of Salento.
Since then, it has caused the desiccation of millions of trees.
The pandemic has generated hundreds of millions of pounds of wood which today is mostly used as firewood or to power biomass power plants.
Our goal is to use the wood affected by Xylella to reconstruct our typical Apulian landscape. Tàccaru is committed to planting a tree for each sold item.
Taccaru’s mission goes beyond sustainability, we are committed to replanting and replenishing Apulia’s olive tree population. We want to ensure that Taccaru products abide by the principles of circularity: they give back to the earth what they take from it.
The inspiration for Tàccaru comes from Salento and its unique landscape.
Our mission: for every item we sell, we will plant a tree in the territory hit by the epidemic.
The most important challenge for us is to rethink the future ofSalento's territory, and to participate in its reconstruction.
